3. Why is diversity important for a business school to address?
4. What are your hopes and dreams for diversity at BGI?

Hey Team,
I hope everyone is well. I am just checking in to see how you guys are doing and what I can do to help and support each of you.
The main things I see us working on now are the following:
It looks like we won't be able to meet until sometime Sunday (still waiting for Allen's meeting wizard response). But I will make myself readily available by phone/text/email the whole weekend.
This certainly is a big, hectic push for this project, but if we can charge through it now, we can meet Gifford's crazy deadline and emerge looking at some smooth sailing to close it out during the next couple weeks.
Onward ho! :)

I hope everyone is well. I am just checking in to see how you guys are doing and what I can do to help and support each of you.
The main things I see us working on now are the following:
- Complete organizing all video content into clips for use (Desiree & Allen)
- The more organized the better (i.e. with notes on the time, content, what section you'd use it for, etc.)
- This is loooong work. :) Do you guys need help? Do you want to assign a video or two to me?
- Create slideshow montage video (Justin)
- Do you have everything you need for this? Is this potentially arduous and complicated task clear?
- It seems like there may not be enough pictures to successfully fill these three 45 sec segments? What do you think? There are other options (i.e. shorter segments, using more video, etc.). Call me if you want to talk about this.
- Create video first cut based on timings from walkthrough (Desiree & Allen)
- Sounds like you guys will be digging into this on Sunday afternoon. Is that right?
- Besides Justin's montage footage, is there anything else you'll need from us for that?
- Music placement (Zack)
- I'm chopping the music up on a multi-track sound editor, preparing it to be easily moved, lengthened, shortened, to match the timing of our video.
- I'll be able to start putting things into place as soon as I have the video (perhaps Sunday night? :))

Hey BGI Div-Vid Team!
I've posted in the Dropbox our Monday meeting notes and the revised storyboard doc with timings on it. The meeting notes' "tasks" section is pasted below.
Sorry for the delay, unfortunately I was dependent upon the Elluminate recording for our notes, but the audio was on Skype (duh!). So I may have left out a lot of stuff, please post anything critical that I might have forgotten or gotten incorrect.
Here's the basic process rundown of what we are trying to do this week to meet Gifford deadline. ITS A LOT, so we need to really be on it:
1. Organize video content and notes
a. Van Jones DVDs and remaining interviews
2. Organize pictures in Dropbox
3. Justin to create slideshow montage video
4. Desiree and Allen to create video generally based on timings from walkthrough, using Justin’s slideshow montage
a. Do not worry too much about matching the music timing. Can be done without music at this stage
5. Zack to help place the music and adjust it so the timing of things works out right
6. Go back and make necessary video edits and adjustments resulting from music placement
7. Rough cut for Gifford by Monday
Let's get movin'!!!!
- Zack
TASKS
1. Desiree or Allen to get Van Jones commencement video from Mickey Lee
2. Desiree and Allen to finish going through the videos (interviews and Van Jones pieces)
3. Everyone help organize photos on Dropbox
a. Can be placed in “Great Pics” folder on the Dropbox
b. Optionally also placed in the “Studious” or “Fun” sub-folders
4. Allen to cut videos down into the times Desiree and Allen had specifically listed
a. Storing the originals on his computer, clearing out some space on the Dropbox
5. Justin to make the photo montage/slideshow video and post on Dropbox
a. Somewhat matching the rhythm of the slideshow to the music
6. Desiree and Allen pull together first draft of video using sections of Justin’s photo slideshow to place in video along with suitable audio clips
7. Zack to help place the music and adjust it so the timing of things works out right
8. Zack to provide revised storyboard doc with updated times placed on it.
9. Zack to send out meeting wizard to settle on time for Friday, Saturday, or Sunday meetings
10. Everyone respond to the Meeting Wizard sent by Zack

Hi All,
I didn't really get anything done last night as I'd hoped. Laya has come down with something (not the flu) and spent most of the night up and down with her. Allen, there's still plenty of footage to cut. What time were you going to be there today? Let me know if you are planning on going back to the studio another time this week as well. I can work on doing the coding again tonight. Another option would be if someone else wanted to take a stab at it. I'm sending myself the excel file so I can at least organize the segments for the storyboard at work. I'll send that to you later.

We did not discuss this on the call just now...but I had a thought. Zack-if you have the technology to record people on a phone call, maybe you could circulate the folks who have been recorded, and others to get their voices on the DSJ vision statement. That way we could begin to collect audio for that segment this week. It would be nice to get more male voices
This is my suggested list of folks:
Manan Shukla*
Stan Brown
Caroline James
Shivanthi*
Mona Das*
Jennifer Kue*
Patty Lu*
Gene Lee
Sally Johnson
Aaron Varney
Jinn Brunk
Frances Walker
Patrick Torres
Gabrielle Sims
Mauri*
Kim--is already recorded*
Michelle Depasse*
Justin Tilson
Ryan Brown
Justin Fenwick
Any of us
Anyone else we know with a nice voice?
* video taken
Desiree

He needs a rough cut in one week to send to the potential donor. He is ok with something rough, just wants something to put faces and stories to it all. Doesn't need music, doesn't need a lot of editing. Let's talk tonight how we can make this happen.
I found a GREAT song...

But i need to figure out how to get it to you guys. It's from the Movie Greencard, composer is Hans Zimmer. Song is called Greenhouse. Why I like this song: good crescendos, optimistic, and there are 3 distinct decrescendos as well which would be great for the video montages. It's 3m14s long.

Quicktime Notetaker

Hey Team,
Here is the link to the software I mentioned to you all, Quicktime Notetaker.
http://www.dvcreators.net/qt-movie-notetaker/
Yes, it's old (2006), its buggy (just ignore the error messages), but it's free, works on Mac and Windows, and is simply a really great tool.
It allows you to listen and make notes, and the notes automatically set timestamps for your notes, which are hyperlinked back to that part of video. It has god keyboard shortcuts for going back and forward 5 secs and other things.
Just remember to save often, not only because its buggy, but you cannot save your session it only saves a text file or your work.
Let me know if you have any trouble with it, or run across a better tool out there.
